Standing Together: A Message of Grace and Gratitude
As we enter day five of the Local’s Choice Awards voting, I want to take a moment to address something that has surfaced during this campaign.
Putting yourself out there in any competition comes with challenges, but I never expected the
level of criticism my team and I have faced during this process. We've been called slanderous names in the comments of our posts, accused of “trying too hard” via DM's, and unfairly condemned for our efforts as a form of intimidation from people via text message. None of which can be taken as truth.
Let me be clear: this behavior does not reflect the values of The Artisan Parlor or the incredible community we serve, nor do we believe these people and their comments represent our competitors In any formal manner either. While criticism may be an unfortunate reality in any public campaign, hate and Intimidation has no place here.
A Message to Our Community
This campaign, while exciting, the message to our community is ultimately a small thing in the grand scheme of life. What truly matters is love—for ourselves, for one another, and for the community that makes all of this possible. We are great because we try! We ask that all of our supporters and followers uphold these values. If you’ve felt compelled to defend us, thank you—but let’s meet negativity with kindness, grace, and respect. No one wins when we fight fire with fire.
To our competitors, Guru Salon and Babe Cave, we have nothing but encouragement and gratitude to share with you. You are incredible businesses with inspiring teams, and we are honored to even be mentioned alongside you. This competition has highlighted the amazing talent in our community, and for that, we are grateful.
